I put 10.1 gm chia seeds with 25.3 gm matcha premix. Which then I add 208.3 ml hot boiled water.
It taste just nice.
I started to consume matcha drink to get better caffeine boost for the day. Since caffeine in matcha. After reading that matcha can keep me feeling alert for much longer than coffee. Coffee is known for providing an instant energy kick that reduces sleepiness and fatigue [1]. Similarly, matcha contains caffeine. However, this beverage may boost your energy at a slower pace than coffee [1].
It is still in experimental stage with matcha at the moment.  As I do notice that I have jitters when I consume more than 2  cups of coffee drink per day. Which I do found it is not a good thing for my health. Especially for my driving and study focus.
Until then, have fun in enjoying good matcha drink at the comfortof your home as morning boost.

Adding brown sugar to my homemade EM

This is taken on the evening of 2 May 2024. Where I managed to add brown sugar to the homemade effective microorganism (EM).
The bottle on the most right is the collected water from rice wash. The bottle next to it is from the spoiled coconut water. Basically I fully utilized the waste to be EM for my plants.
The smell is not fragrant. But I love the output. Where I always get good, sweet and fragrant fruits. Worth the effort.
Plus, the commercial fertilizer is now too pricey for me. So need to be as frugal as possible yet need to still get optimum yield. Regardless, do what suits you the most. As my method is not for the faint heart.
Until then, have fun in tending after your homemade effective microorganism (EM).

Harvesting my ripe orange cherry Barbados fruit

This is taken on the morning of 2 May 2024. I am grateful to notice the ripe orange cherry Barbados fruit before leave the house for work. I do not wait for it to be completely orange. Since I am afraid I might forget about it the next day. Many says it looks like cherry tomato due to its colour and shape. Selfie with the ripe orange cherry Barbados fruit after reached lab.
The ripe orange cherry Barbados fruit weigh 7 gm. Quite heavy.

Helping out friend to harvest banana fruits

This is taken on the morning of 1 May 2024. I was visiting my friend to collect her gardening accessories. As she is giving it away since she is moving out.
My friend did not notice the yellow banana fruit on the second comb/bunch (sisir/sikat). She told me she checked by touching the banana fruits and it still not soften like the one sold at shops. Well that is not my way to do. Which I explained to her what I normally check to know the banana fruits is ready for harvest.
Comparison banana fruits size with my cleaver. It is quite plump and big. Yet it does not look like any of banana fruits that I have grown.

The look of yellow ripe pisang nipah (banana) fruits

This is taken on the morning of 30 April 2024. The look of yellow ripe pisang nipah (banana) fruits. From 1 bunch/comb (sisir/sikat). This is 6 unit from total 20 per bunch/comb (sisir/sikat).
This harvest, seems to evenly ripen per bunch/comb (sisir/sikat). Still learning the best way to let it ripen evenly like this. It was harvested last 18 April 2024. Basically it took 13 days for it to ripen to yellow after harvest.
It was harvested before it is turned yellow as 2 bunch/comb (sisir/sikat) of the pisang nipah (banana) fruits was already devoured by monkeys.
I am planning to add it into my rolled oats for my lunch today.
Until then, have fun in monitoring the ripeness of your harvested pisang nipah (banana) fruits.

Experimenting with rolled oats

This is taken last 19 April 2024. Where I finally found rolled oats in one supermarket near my residential area. Normally only able to find instant oat and quick oat in the nearest mini market. The reason rolled oats is being bought as I wanted to start making incorporating overnight oats for my daily routine.

From the packaging, rolled oats take longest time to be cooked. That is 5 minutes.

Quick oat takes 2 minutes to cook.

Instant oat only need to add hot water.

Can choose which ever suits your needs.

Suggested recipe is 5 tablespoon of rolled oats with 240 ml milk.
The brown part is brown sugar. I add 1/4 teaspoon for taste.

Tested in the evening of 19 April 2024 around 8 pm. Half from recipes on the packaging. That is 32 gm rolled oat with 17.5 gm powder milk and 100 ml water. Steam for 15 minutes. And I end up feel full until 10 am the next day. Around 14 hours time. For me it is quite and achievement.

As I easily feel hungry again 2 hours after eating 50 gm of rice with sambal goreng the next evening.

I have started eating oat since in 20s. As Nestum is not fulfilling enough for my stomach. So I have to eat oat to keep my stomach at peace.

Hopefully I will be able to be consistent with my overnight oats aim. Since during few days of the month, my stomach process much faster than usual processing time. Which action is needed to address such issue.
Until then, have fun in trying out overnight oats.

The look of harvested pisang raja (banana) fruits

This is taken on the morning of 16 April 2024. Finally able to harvest the yellowing pisang raja (banana) fruits. Able to get 4 sisir/sikat (comb) of pisang raja (banana) fruits. First sisir/sikat (comb) contains of 10 unit pisang raja (banana) fruits. Second sisir/sikat (comb) contains of 9 unit pisang raja (banana) fruits. Third sisir/sikat (comb) contains of 9 unit pisang raja (banana) fruits. Fourth sisir/sikat (comb) contains of 9 unit pisang raja (banana) fruits.

The close up look of the fallen off ripe yellow pisang raja (banana) fruit.

One of my regular customer immediately asked me if I am selling the pisang raja (banana) fruits. After sharing the picture. Since early this year she have missed out the one harvested last 16 January 2024 (first harvest of pisang raja (banana) fruits in year 2024). I have informed her I can only check the price after weighing it once I am back home in the evening to confirmed the selling price including delivery.
unit pisang raja (banana) fruit from second sisir/sikat (comb) weigh 174.7 gm. And it does taste sweet and refreshing when eaten during end of my fasting that day.
For this pisang raja (banana) plant, I have long reduced the fertilizer dosage and frequency. Since the earlier ones size is too big and heavy. My customer prefer moderate size like pisang berangan (banana) size. Basically bigger size does not matter here. Plus, when it is bigger it is heavier. Quantity also matters. Lesson learned after 5 years planting it. Since January 2019 [2]. Regardless, I am grateful to have the opportunity to self plant and taste this tasty pisang raja (banana) fruits. And thankful to one of gardening members to sell the offspring to me last 2019. Since it is fallen under rare category already that time. I also have never encountered it in fruit stalls and shops.
Normally, it is best suggested to replant the banana plant to other places after each year or harvest. However, seems like my method in using self made compost fertilizer works well to let the soil recover after each year of harvest. Still a lot to learn.
Until then, be safe while harvesting your planted pisang raja (banana) fruits.

Why those who have cats better stay in landed home

This is based on conversation last 26 September 2023. Where one of lecturer shared her experience burying her dead cat in the faculty. She is staying in apartment in Permas Jaya area. Basically she have to drive 32 km to bury her dead cat in faculty.

From my own experience who live in landed home, I have no issue. As I do let the land area beside my house as it is and planted various plants. So when there is a dead stray cat or the one under my care died, I simply dig out the land area and buried them. Have done so during covid19 time. I do feel blessed to be able to stay in landed home.

Basically, this is the things that is normally not considered at all when buying a house. Well, now I do know I have to put it into list of consideration if I bought new ones.

Until then, have fun surveying good home for your needs.
