Morphology of pisang tanduk plant.

Since too many people confuse about  pisang tanduk heart (inflorescence). Where they asked and suggested me to cut off the heart to make it as ulam. Which is wrong step to do. That is why knowledge is important whenever you start planting any kind of banana plant or other type of plant.

The morphology and process flow of pisang tanduk producing fruits is different from other type of banana plant.

The process is the fruit will come out from its heart. Basically there will be no leftover heart to be eaten for consumption as ulam.

Summary: heart->fruit->no heart balance as all become banana fruits.

As for other type of banana plant, the fruits will come out from its heart. But there will be leftover heart that need to be harvested to give room for the fruits to grow.

Summary: heart->fruit->have leftover heart balance that need to be harvested after most become banana fruits.

This is from my personal observation based on few references I used with my self planting experience.

This is where I found knowledge very crucial. If you do not have the knowledge, you will end up doing wrong step and cut off the banana heart. Which will lead of NO banana fruit at all comes from your pisang tanduk plant.
Based on logic, the banana fruits comes out from the heart (inflorescence) [1]. It definitely not magicall conjured.

I always encourage those hobbyist who is starting to plant pisang tanduk to go and learn well before start planting it. In order for them to grow it in the correct way and steps to get pisang tanduk fruits. Can also enroll in my personal consultation and gardening class later.
