Wet food herbs for cats

I started to make my own wet food for cats since early 2016. This is because I have plenty of cats and I do find that it is more cost effective making it own my own. Plus, I get to put herbs that suits my cats conditions and needs. Custom solution for me and my cats.

5 packs for my first customer
Chicken flavor. 85 gm per pack
Ingredients for the wet food: chicken, water, carrots, cucumber, ginger, Vitamin C, Vitamin A,  exclusive herbs for kidney health and skin.

Benefits of this wet food herbs:
1) help to increase immune system
2) stimulates urination and helps to keep kidneys healthy
3) improve skin health
4) detoxify the body
5) defend against colds
6) optimize digestion
7) have vitamin C and A

For me personally, this is the the best home made food that my cats loves. Where they tends to eat till their bowl clean and clear. However, I used to mixed rice with the wet food herbs. By doing so, it helps my cats to get full faster and at the same time reduce their food cost. Yet, they still benefit with all the good nutritions and vitamins. I do found that one of my new cat that only consume solely on biscuits, do eat until the food bowl clean on the mixed rice and wet food herbs.

My precious baby boy Dell, focus eating the good food mixed without looking elsewhere
I am proud to have my own wet food herbs product because it is free from preservatives. Hopes that my cats will be healthy and have long life span. Moreover, my wet food cat herbs is SALT free. Unlike the existing wet food for cats in the market like this [1]. If there is no salt stated in the ingredient, you have to look for sodium [2], a type of salt. One of more reason why cats that have more tendency to get kidney stones or urinary disease.

Introduction price is RM 2 per 85 gm pack. While stock last.

Till then, have a good day playing with your little ones.

Update 1 on planting green peas at home

This is the first update on my progress in planting the green peas (or actually mung beans). For me, the growth rate were fast. I do think that I shouldn't wait more than 3 days to move the germinated seeds to soil. As I am afraid the survival rate would be lower as there are more nutrition on soil than in the germinated case.

The one circled in the picture is actually the green peas that I put near my green sugar cane on 14 Sept 16
This is the picture of the above green peas after 17 Sept 16. It grew very green tapered leaves after 5 days on soil
This is the green peas that I put in this small pot last 14 Sept 16. Can check the previous picture here

This is 3 green peas that I germinate last 14 Sept 16. The tallest is around 1.5 cm high
This is the green peas after I move it on soil evening of 18 Sept 16. That is 4 days after germinate. See how tall it grew?
My conclusion would be that the green peas that moved within 3 days to soil have shorter sturdy stem and thicker plus greener leaves. The one that moved at the 4th day to soil will have longer thinner stem and shorter thinner leaves.

Hopefully the plants will grow healthier and produce more green peas for me. Will post the update here in my blog for easy growth tracking.
For the initial picture of the germinated green peas, could he found in my entry on planting green peas at home.
Till then, be safe while gardening.

Planting green peas at home

Do you know how green peas (kacang hijau is what I normally called) or the actual name is greenish capped mung beans [1,2] look in their pods and the plant?
Green peas in their pod
Close up on the green beans
Green peas in pods
Since normally the ones sold in the supermarket or shop is the peeled version. I myself never see green peas plant since little. Therefore, I am planning to grew one myself for own experiment and self consumption.
The green peas that I forget and leave it in the jug since last Sunday, 11 September 2016. Happens that it survive and grew
The green peas before moving it into soil. This stage it already become bean sprouts and could be consume. Can leave longer if you wanted it to grow longer like the one sold in markets
Using the existing soil for it to grew more before deciding the suitable space
Normally people would germinate the beans to make bean sprouts or in Malay tauge and use it stuffed tofu (tauhu sumbat) or in cooking. Other delicacies that could be made from this green peas is green peas porridge, kuih kasturi, and etc.

Green peas or mung beans also have plenty of health benefit such as [3]:
1) Can help lower high cholestrol and protect against heart disease,
2) Can help lower high blood pressure,
3) Contains antioxidants that fight cancer development,
4) Can help prevent or treat Type 2 diabetes,
5) Provide high source of protein,
6) Boost immunity and protect against infections and viruses,
7) High source of vitamins and minerals like folate and magnesium,
8) Help to fights obesity and helps weight loss,
9) Can help decrease PMS symptoms,
10) Easy to digest compared to many other beans

Hopefully my experiment will works. This is because green peas or mung beans have 212 calories [3] which is 85% more than in bean sprouts.

Planting mango Harum Manis in my house compound

I receive a box of mango Harum Manis from a friend of mine in Perlis last May 2016. This is my second attempt to germinate the seeds after the first batch in (germinate in May 2015) died due to dry season in August 2015.

I am attempting to plant this kind of mango at home since the price per kilogram is reaching RM 23 this year [1]. This mango also being eagerly waited by people from Japan and Thailand [2].

Planting the Harum Manis mango outside gate of my house
Close up of the Harum Manis mango after 114 days
There are 5 seeds were germinate that time. But only 1 manage to survive and growing healthily after 114 days (or 3 months and 22 days). Thanks to my friend, seems like I have better chance in this second attempt after getting more knowledge on gardening.

My conclusion for the fail first attempt: late in re-locate the seedlings to soil. The seedling might died not only due to lack of water. But also due to lack of other minerals that required for it to survive.

Hope that this little one will survive till the end.

Till then, have a good day in gardening at home.

Update 2 on my black sugar cane

I have make my first update on the growth of my black sugar cane in the last entry. Actually, I have experiment 2 version of planting technique for the sugar cane.

First is by planting 45 degree.
Second is by planting horizontally.

Both planting technique were done at the same day. That is on 14 August 2016.
Refer to image below on the growth rate. Especially on the quantity of the new shoots that coming out from each version.
45 degrees planting grew 4 shoots after 25 days
Refer to my blog entry on update 1 on my black sugar cane for the previous update after 18 days and entry on growing black sugar cane at home for previous update after 14 days.
Horizontal planting grew only 2 shoots after 25 days
My conclusion would be planting technique 45 degrees have better output than horizontal planting.

Till then, be safe while gardening.

My review on Aquolina - Pink Sugar

There are plenty of vanilla based perfume in the market. But I prefer sweet vanilla smell with caramel. Trying to have the fresh baked cookies smell on me. I stumble on this perfume along the exploring journey.
Pink Sugar By Aquolina For Women Eau De Toilette Spray, 3.4-Ounce 100ml
This came with a bottle case (on the left of the bottle)

Sadly, this perfume is not available in the mall or perfume boutique in Malaysia. Therefore, I am unable to get a sniff on it for consideration before make my purchase. Also no vial available for this. Regardless the obstacle, I finally manage to buy one unit via online in year 2009.

The fragrance notes [1]:
Top = bergamot, Sicilian orange, fig leaves, raspberry
Heart = strawberry, cotton candy, lily-of-the-valley, licorice blossom, red berries
Base = vanilla, caramel, sandalwood, musk, tonka bean

There are other type of sweet perfume in the market. But I do like this one the most for sweet caramelized vanilla smell. It really satisfy my sweet sense craving at times when needed.

Even though it is EDT, surprisingly this sugar baby last on me more than 12 hours when I am using it for work last time in 2009 till early 2011. I was working in air conditioning room that time. I always make sure to only use 1 spray per application. And this perfume do not need more than that. However, I do find that I can't use this perfume when I am fasting or for sleep. As it makes me hungry faster than I normally would.

Talk about the strength of longevity : 10/10
Sillage: 9/10

During my time using in around end 2011 till 2012, I receive much compliment from my female companion regarding this perfume. They say it does smells like gula-gula masam manis. Refer below image.
Gula-gula masam manis [2]
I am using it again today. After breakfast and long stay back in lab, using the decant that I put in a roll-on bottle. I apply 1 dab of the fragrance on my right wrist, followed by dabbing it to my left wrist and all over my body, I could already smell it strongly evaporating around me. Can't imagine if I spray it on the with such monstrous strength. Might suffocate and give migraine to my lab mate who are also in the midst of finishing work for submission this morning. Up till this evening, the smell still fresh on my wrist. But faintly on myself. Talk about quality of this EDT.

I strongly suggest for people to test this first before using it. As some would find it cloying and suffocating since it is too sweet. Plus, the hot humid tropical weather in Malaysia would definitely make the sweetness worsen when the temperature get higher.
One of the reason why I use roll on perfume. So that I could avoid giving others migraine from the strong sprayed perfume smell.
Since I have experienced the nauseated feeling and terrible headache when I am around people who doused themselves with strong perfume smell. It does takes long time for me to recover from such extreme attack.

Update:
Last night I dab my roll-on Pink Sugar on me after getting in my other half's car. He immediately asked me if the sweet foodie smell that he detect is coming from me. Right after I finish dab on the perfume. I was quite surprised since he never ask such question. Then, it happens that he was hungry that time. No wonder he become sensitive on my scent that time. Seems like the sweet foodie scent does makes him crave for food more.

Till then, have a good smelling day ahead no matter how late you stay back to finish your work.

Update 1 on my black sugar cane

The cutted stem of sugar cane sprout out 2 more new leaves
In my first entry of my black sugar cane, it just sprout out 1 leaf on 29 Aug 16.

This morning, I notice that 2 more leaves grow from it. Which means it is healthy growing more after 18 days. Refer to the above picture to see the new leaves that grow on left and right of the cutted stem.

Seeing the growth of my plant babies makes me feel thankful for being able to own a house that have small land area in the house compound. Need to work harder and smarter to own bigger land area to grow more and more plants for bigger future plan.

Till then, have a good time in gardening at home.
