DIY Car & Room Freshener – My Essential Oil Blend Experiment

19 June 2025, Morning Notes

This morning, I finally succeeded in making my own car and room freshener using a blend of four essential oils: rose, sandalwood, lavender, and jasmine. It was a fun little project, born out of necessity. Life has been getting busier lately, and my usual go-to (freshly cut pandan leaves) only lasts about 3 to 5 days before losing its scent. Constantly needing to prepare a new batch became a bit too much.

Hang the freshener set inside the car I am using to leave it fragrant. After arrived parking lot student in P06, FKE in the morning.
The setup for the freshener set for lab usage.

So, I turned to essential oils. A more lasting and flexible option. The scent combo feels calming and slightly luxurious, perfect for both the car and my room. I’ll be updating soon on how long the fragrance holds up and how it performs in different spaces.

Until then, have fun creating your own custom blends! There’s something deeply satisfying about experimenting with scents that suit your mood and space.

Making my homemade eucalyptus balm for daily usage

This is taken in the morning of 2 November 2021. Where I decided to make my own homemade eucalyptus balm. As the decanted eucalyptus oil container keep on leaking despite all my effort to contain such matter. Makes me decided to turn the eucalyptus oil in more solid texure like a balm.
The look of my homemade eucalyptus balm in salmon coloured lid container of 6 gm.
This homemade eucalyptus balm is for me to apply whenever I get bloating stomach, body ache and also flu. Basically it was like a vicks vaporub.
As for my face, I just used my homemade lips and face balm [1]. Then I put on sunscreen. Just the day I prefer make up free face.
My breakfast lontong with the packed 6 gm homemade eucalyptus balm. This is just for size comparison purpose. As this eucalyptus balm is for external used only.
The look of the ingredients that need to be melted for the eucalyptus balm making process.
I have to make sure the temperature while melting the melting ingredients not exceed 64 degrees Celcius. So additional tool is needed in temperature monitoring process. I just like being exactly precise. It does take longer time. But worth the wait.
Somehow this melting process makes me feel like a witch making its potion for her witchcraft😅. In modern world, I am like a chemist😁. But this witchcraft or chemistry output is to solve my liquid leaking problem and at the same time keep my ageing skin supple.
The look of fully melted ingredients in the used 100 ml beaker.
I have test and used the homemade eucalyptus balm during day time. It does works well and absorbed fast into my skin. Also I get moistured skin and pleasant after scent. I am really satisfied with my witchcraft or chemistry work.
Till then, have fun in making your own homemade eucalyptus balm.

The look of my refillable lighter gas bottle

This is taken in the evening of 15 January 2021. Despite having it for the past 3 months. As one of my friend is showing off his refillable lighter gas bottle to me.

So far 1 have use it 2 times to refill torch lighter size L.
Do make sure to refill your lighter in open space. As it will make you suffocate if accidentaly inhaled it when refilling in confined area.
I do prefer to use torch lighter since it is refillable and produce blue flame. Despite it higher cost, still worth money spend. As I have been using my L size torch lighter for almost 2 years already.
Till then, be safe in refilling your torch lighter.

My self sewn phone pouch using remnants of khakis pant

This is taken in the morning of 23 September 2020. Where I manage to hand sewn the part to hook sling rope to my self sewn phone pouch.

I am still learning best sewing technique to make good durable phone pouch. For now, I focus in using remnants that available in hands. Such as old khakis pants, jeans and etc. But still it is a good start for beginner like me. What matter is my phone pouch able to store 2 of my phone.
