Shortening jeans with pinking shear

This is taken on the morning of 3 June 2024. Where I managed to shorten my newly bought jeans. I use pinking shear for it.

What I can see is by using this pinking shear, I have less fray. Where I can also take my time to sew the cut part.

Cloth edges that are unfinished will easily fray, the weave becoming undone and threads pulling out easily. The sawtooth pattern does not prevent the fraying but limits the length of the frayed thread and thus minimizes damage.[1]

I bought this pinking shear last September 2020. 

Until then, have fun in using pinking shear to cut your jeans.

My pretty cotton knit fabric with Transformer print

This is taken in the noon of 9 April 2020. Where I successfully retrieve it from poslaju office. The fabric type is cotton knit with Transformer print.

Was thinking to make a blouse out of it. I have custom made one with Batman printed cotton [1]. During this restriction movement order, I do think to make face mask from the material. But have to postpone and use my existing one. As I need to prioritize my work and tending after my plants & cats.

My good investment for high quality sewing scissors.

I bought this high quality sewing scissors last 2011. Basically, I have been using it for the past 8 years. It still in sharp and good condition despite few rust on it. I only spend RM 38 for this sewing scissors. If I was not mistaken, it is 9 inch size.

Number 9 in the middle part of this scissor shows it size in 9 inch.
