The look of Asian Openbill Stork in UTM Skudai campus

This is taken in the noon of 11 February 2020. Where I notice that this Asian Openbill Stork still roams around UTM Skudai campus [1]. I think it has been almost 4 weeks after start noticing them last 21 January 2020. As it is 1 size bigger than the usual bangau (yellow billed egret) that is available here [2].

Not sure why they stay around quite long here. As this area is not common to see such species. From the information gain in wikipedia, the species is very rare in the Sind and Punjab regions of Pakistan, but widespread and common in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia [1].
For me, first time in my life to see them. As Malaysia is not part of the places they usually stop by. Not sure if they can sense coronavirus outbreak earlier and decided to stay put here till the coast is safe and clear for them to migrate [3]. Seems like UTM Skudai campus have sufficient supplies for them to stay put.

Using my collapsible 3 liter pail to buy 1 whole diced raw chicken.

This is taken in the evening of 10 November 2019.

Fortunately I always keep this collapsible in my daily commuting bag. So much more easier when I went for groceries shopping after finished working.

My collapsible 3 liter pail for daily usage

This is taken in the noon of 30 October 2019. My blue coloured 3 liter collapsible pail. Reason in obtaining it is to reduce plastic usage each time I shop for raw chicken.

Leak test session.

I did do leak test session. Where I fill the pail with water. Then leave it for 40 minutes while I get ready to work in the morning of 31 October 2019.

This is taken late evening of 5 November 2019. I take away the bought diced raw chicken in my collapsible 3 liter pail. I have been carrying my collapsible pail for the past 2 weeks after receiving it.

My temperature sensor spoon

Among my attempt in reducing plastic spoon, I nowadays always bring my temperature sensor spoon in my bag. It happened that last 15 October 2019, my hot coffee drink arrive without spoon to stir it. Instead of asking for spoon, I just take out my temperature sensor spoon from my bag.

Using my collapsible cup during meeting.

I have to use my collapsible cup last 21 October 2019 during meeting. As I forget to bring my glass bottle to the lab today. I prefer to use my collapsible cup since it has lid to cover the cup. Unlike the rest of the cup available in my lab. It can contains up to 400 ml capacity. Able to withstand temperature range -30 degrees up to 220 degrees. But I strongly against hot temperature. As the collapsible cup do not have handle.

Using my green reusable bag and stainless steel straw to enjoy take away coconut water.

I am having ayam penyet set for my early dinner this evening. Fortunately I have put my green reusable bag in my daily handbag. Therefore, I am able to collect the chicken bones without feeling guilty. It is part of my effort to eliminate plastic waste. 

Hopefully I am able to practise such effort in consistent manner. I know it is not much. But still, it is a start.

Accepting the challenge on No Plastic Straw campaign.

Since nowadays most merchant is reducing the usage of plastic straw, I decided to take up the No Plastic Straw campaign using reusable stainless steel straw. Due to my horrific experience in drinking A&W rootbeer float without straw last 9 January 2019.

The look of my A&W rootbeer float drink last 9 January 2019 without straw. It is horror😖. 

I immediately order my stainless steel straw that instance. Received it safely today.
