Update on growth of my plants (tomatoes, pumpkin, longan Brazil, mandarin tangerine) on 1st week of Feb 2017

Update for this weekend.
At this moment, the top tomato only have a slight red in colour.

At this moment, all tomatoes still green in colour.

Tomatoes:
The top tomato becoming more red. And one more also in process getting red.
One of my tomato becoming full in red colour
Picture taken from top angle

Taken from top and my right side
Picture of the full tomato tree
Garlic that I plant to protect the tomato tree from being attacked by mealy bugs in organic way

Pumpkin:
This is the look after almost 2 months.
The second female flower of my pumpkin after manual pollination last 2 days ago. Seems like it still fine = not withered like the first female flower. I use rafia rope to tie the flower after manual pollination. Hoping the male pollen would not washed a way during rain
The third female flower

The fourth female flower. Still small. Seems like it only take 3 days for it to grow and booming = ready for manual pollination

Male flower while it still young. The difference is female flower have fruit ball under the flower petal

Male flower. Long and straight. No fruit ball under it petal

Male flower. Booming and bud condition
I already have 4 mature female pumpkin flower. The first one died as I was late to manual pollinate it. The other 3 seems to have promising looks after I manually pollinate them.

Germinated seeds= longan Brazil, mandarin oranges

The look of my longan Brazil after given good care. Seems like in better condition compare to my first germination attempt

The mandarin tangerine seeds seems to survive well after replant on soil
Till then, do keep on looking after your precious plants and fruits vigorously. In order to get maximum output.

Update 2 on growth of my tomato tree

Finally one of my tomatoes started to change colour gradually to red after almost 1 month of wait.
The top most is becoming more red. The largest one here is 22 mm in diameter

Picture of the whole tree

Focus on the left part of the tree

The largest in the left part of the tree is 22 mm in diameter
Can't wait for it all to turn into red in colour.
To be frank, it is not easy as guide book say to grow tomato till it bear a huge and big fruit. I also encounters few difficulties and obstacles. Still learn to learn and try and error a lot.

I have few more tomatoes tree in hand that I have germinate extra. For those who are interested, can contact me as the price varies based on age and size of the tomato tree. The one that already bear a little fruit will cost more since you could harvest the fruit in less than 2 months after purchase.

The previous update on my tomatoes can be found in this link http://serinurulbeauty.blogspot.my/2017/01/update-1-on-growth-of-my-tomato-tree.html

Till then, be safe while gardening

Review on Vidal Sassoon hair dryer S108

This is my first hair dryer.
Bought in 2008. That time have discount offer. RM 99 from 129.
I bought it immediately since it is Vidal Sassoon brand. At that time, Vidal Sassoon were quite a good brand for a hair dryer. Plus, it was ionic with ceramic coating.
Specification of the hair dryer as below:-
Type : S108
Ref : VS25383H
Voltage: 230V~50-60 Hz
Wattage: 1800W
Foldable : yes

Info on the dryer that I found from internet https://www.tokopedia.com/bagusmurah/vidal-sassoon-vs25383h-1800w-compact-hair-dryer

It has heat speed 1 and 2. Cold wind after heat speed 2. Which means the cold wind speed is stronger
But over time, the hair dryer easily become hotter during usage. Where can smell burn when I dry a damp towel during raining season in December 2014 in Pekan, Pahang. Which definitely not good for delicate stuff like my precious hair. At time I bought the hair dryer, I don't consider function/technology on automatic heat protections as a major concern or function in a hair dryer compare to now. Where now the Vidal Sassoon hair dryer is fast overheating. Even when I use heat number 1.
I do find such function/technology is a must for my current usage. As it would help to protect the hair dryer. Also give a length on the device life span.
Now the hair dryer already have crack all over the body and nozzle area. Still, it works regardless overheating issue.

I have been using the hair dryer till 2014. It is really handy for traveling. The wind strength is sufficient enough for me at that time.
I still keep the hair dryer. Cause few of it parts can still be used in few projects.
But today, I have decided to let the hair dryer go. As last time I lend one of the lab mate my hair dryer to help dry stray kitten in lab area. After I took it back, I remember I still kept my Vidal Sassoon hair dryer in lab. I quickly look for it and eventually found it. I immediately give it to the lab mate. At least, the hair dryer still could be used to help others such as the stray kitten😉
Till then, have a good dry hair day😘

Germinating mandarin orange seeds this Chinese New Year 2017

I have tried last year germinate the mandarin orange seeds. However my attempt fail. Seems like my last attempt does not have enough moisture for the seeds to germinate.
Therefore, taking advantage of Chinese New Year this year I brave myself to try again.
Eaten in 24 Jan 2017. Courtesy to one of my Chinese friends

I start to let them grow on 26 Jan 2017

Found today that 2 seeds already growing roots. Which to be exact = after 2 days
This is calamondin (Limau Kasturi in Malay)

I really did plant and leave this one. Totally forget about it until today. While I was in the midst of cleaning up the area to plant papaya. I really need to mark also planting date on the label next time. In order to keep track growth rate of the plant😅
Hopefully my second attempt will be a success.
Till then, have an wonderful holiday during this Chinese New Year. And make sure your plant is having enough water during the holiday😉

Replant few seeds in pots

I am replanting few seeds that I have germinate for the past week. Among of them are Longan Brazil (still looking for the correct name of it), Calamondin (or Limau Kasturi in Malay) seeds, Lemon seeds, Green Apple seeds and Sapodilla (or Ciku in Malay) seeds.
Calamondin and Lemon seeds I germinate since week 4 Jan 2017.
Green Apple seeds already grow roots when I ate the fruit around week 15 Jan 2017.
All of them I collect from what I have eaten for the past 2 weeks. Basically, I didn't throw anything away. I even kept the peeled skin to be fertilizer for the rest of my plants.
Hopefully the lemon seed that I try to germinate here from the midst of calamondin seeds survive

This is seeds that I germinate. Details on what I germinate in the picture
Can see the roots is growing plenty of small ones
At this moment, the sapodilla (or Ciku in Malay) seeds have not sprouting roots yet. But I just replant it on soil
Hopefully all of them survive and grow healthily.

Update 1 on growth of my tomato tree

This is my first entry for 2017. The late entry due to few datelines that need to be met in earlier weeks.

Want to make update on my tomatoes. The first batch of tomatoes already grow bigger. The diameter of the largest one is 14 mm.

My previous entry on planting tomatoes can be found in this link.
If you zoom out this picture, you could see other branches already started to bear fruits

The tomatoes is already huge. But have not change color to yellow yet

Like all of my friends, I am also anxious to see the fruits to change color to yellow and red.
Hopefully it won't take much time since nowadays the weather is getting hotter and only rains after 4 days. Which could affect the growth of my tomatoes.
Till then, have a fun time gardening on this weekend
