Update 1 on my pumpkins growth

At this moment, I have done manual pollination on 8 female pumpkin flower. However, only 5 of them survive and growing bigger as pumpkin fruits. Basically, my success rate is 62.5 % on manual pollination.
This is the growth since early November 2016. After around 3 months and 16 days.

Measurement is taken early this week.
The largest one is 35 cm in diameter

23 cm in diameter

25.5 cm in diameter

Nowadays, I make sure to be early in order to catch the female pumpkin flower booming on time for the manual pollination daily.
Some beetle near my pumpkin leaves
They still stick together regardless I have lift up the above leaves
Hopefully those beetles are the good bugs for my tree. Haven't check their details yet. Regardless what, I am disciplining myself to spray neem oil without fail to all my plants daily. Hopefully, that will minimize the damage and protect my crops.

Government Veterinary Clinic Johor Bahru

*Disclaimer : this entry is just my experience with this facility. I am not associated with this facility. Have to write such since too many asking questions like I work in the facility😅.

I went to the government veterinary in Johor Bahru. Fortunately I check information online before make the journey there. That is the good thing when you always make sure to check before planning a journey.
Apparently, they have moved to new building in Bandar Baru Uda since early 2016. Last time I went the one in Kebun Teh in year 2014 when helping to send over my friend's cat.
Landmark to go to this place is to put in MALAYSIAN PRODUCTIVITY CORPORATION in Google maps search. This place is the opposite building of the veterinary clinic.

I found that the new place have better and more parking space compare to the previous place.

The veterinarian suggest for me to take fungal shot for my infection. Since I already take prescribed ointment for almost 3 weeks. Planning to take it tomorrow while I am still slightly free from my workload.
This is based on my experience going there. Please check with the veterinary clinic before going there.
Till then, be safe and make sure to treat your cats on time. A lesson to be learn for a novice like me.

Honey bamboo in my house

Last time, I am not a fan eating bamboo shoots. But after staying in kl few years back, my aunt always cook it in her home in most of my visit. Eventually,  I grow to love the taste. And I do find later that honey bamboo shoots (rebung buluh madu) taste better and sweeter.
Thanks to one nice Uncle, I manage to get more than 1 unit of these precious honey bamboo for my house.
Can see how solid the stem of this honey bamboo. Can be alternative for clothes hanging rod at home

This morning, I spend my time to replant the precious honey bamboo trees.
Found 1 earthworm while digging

I throw it in the bamboo polystyrene

Balance of my honey bamboo in used pail
Please be extra careful while digging up the soil in front of my house area to replant few plants such as curry tree, keremak and etc.. As I just encounter centipede that can sting you along with her little ones.
The centipede baby

Half portion of the adult centipede
If possible, do use thick working glove while rummaging the soil. Fortunately that time I am using my working boots. Cannot imagine the pain if being sting by this centipede as people say the black one sting is more potent than the red centipede.

Till then, be safe while gardening.

Harvesting my tomatoes today and tasting

I harvest my tomatoes before I went out for work today to bring as my snack.
Me with the fresh cut tomato

Diameter of my tomato = 22 cm

Weight = 143 gm

The smooth, clean and clear skin of my tomatoes. Same with the gardener skin

Cutting ceremony

The scooped seeds for re-planting

We eat it raw. Since it is organic and fresh.

Verdict from my colleagues = the tomato taste fresh and sweet.
Height of my tomato tree can be found in this link. The tips almost 2 meters tall.

It was not easy to tend after tomato tree. But it does worth it when you get such big size of tomato harvest.

Till then, have a good time gardening at home.
