New trick to catch Cockroach without using pesticide

I was cleaning my messy room today after presentation research progress in faculty this morning. Then, 1 cockroach flew out from the cabinet. I was stunned for a while. Thinking was to kill the insect as I do not have my cockroach Ridset with me. Then, *-:) I got an idea. I frantically assemble my handheld vacuum. Turn on the plug, and vacuum the vicious insect in#:-S

The trapped cockroach. In struggle to get out from the vacuum

Keep on cleaning my room using vacuum. The cockroach already giving up as it already under piles of dust
The moral of the story, no need to panic when you see cockroach. Take a deep breath, think. And use the equipment that you have at that time. To have a handheld vacuum do helps>:) If I was using broom, the cockroach would still hiding in the most unreachable area.
Till then, have a good evening:x

Blackout survival kit

Last week, there is no electricity at all at my faculty. From Monday, 6 April 2015 until Sunday noon, 12 April 2015.

I even have to do equipment testing in my faculty using the Genset power port as the equipment is too heavy to bring to other faculty. Plus less hassle if could test in the same faculty.
Therefore, me and one of my colleague were drenched in sweat while we do installation and testing the equipment. That is when I got the idea on the list of blackout survival kit.

What are the basic essential during blackout for me? The list as follows:
1) A fully charged powerbank with built in LED
Reason: easy as people nowadays are using powerbank. To have a built in LED in the powerbank could help to save space. Plus, easily to obtain to use during the emergency hour.
As last month during blackout in UTM JB from 3.00 pm to 3.00 am, my friend told me in that evening during Maghrib prayer already 5 people slipped in the hostel toilet as it was too dark to see. Which is extremely hazardous and high risk of fatal injury😨
A built in LED in powerbank. This powerbank capacity is 20,000 mAh and have 2 USB outlet (1.0 A and 2.1 A)
2) USB fan that can powered up using powerbank+USB humidifier. Need to have extra powerbank with 2 USB outlet for this 2 items.
A combination of 30,000 mAh powerbank (RM 90 with 2 USB outlet of 1.0 A and 2.1 A), USB fan and USB humidifier (the blue doughnut shape at most right)
This black powerbank have cut-off feature where it will automatically off when your phone already fully charged. Which will help your phone battery to have longer lifespan and no overcharge issue.
Powerbank with built in LED in action
The mist that vapour the water faster, thanks to the help of the humidifier
Reason: The USB fan is portable. This model have 2 speed. The head of the fan can tilt to adjust the angle of the fan head, leave it to turn and can also lock so that it only fan specific angle. Same function as normal size fan.
I also use it in the car to get extra wind boost especially in this hot till burn bushes type of weather in Pahang.
The fan can be powered up using either 1.0A or 2.1A USB outlet. Just plug and play to the powerbank. No need any installation or setting.
If you are interested, could order the USB fan from me. The price is RM 65 with GST. Shipping fees is RM 12 for Peninsular Malaysia, RM 18 for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
Humidifier is an add on accessories to the USB fan. However, I do suggest for those who works and sleeps in air-conditioned condition to use one. As it helps to humidify the dry air from the aircond. I have once went to a friend house in Nusa Idaman, JB. Her living hall were really cool and nice in the hot blazing noon. She only used fan and a humidifier to keep the living hall cool. I prefer this design of humidifier as it can also put into a larger container such as small pail like I have done in my previous entry http://serinurulbeauty.blogspot.com/2014/10/trip-to-1-malaysia-shop-in-pramu-pahang.html. This enable less effort to refill the water in the container😘
However, not suggested for those who have asthma to use humidifier. As it could increase the asthma attack since it will be too cold and humid for them.
The humidifier also can be powered up using either 1.0A or 2.1A USB outlet. Just plug and play to the powerbank, same like the USB fan. No need any installation or setting.
The price is RM 50 with GST. Shipping fees is RM 12 for Peninsular Malaysia, RM 18 for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

3) Candle. I prefer the long non-drip for long hours blackout. The non-drip one better as it drip less residue compare the normal one. Or for neat one, can opt for the one in aluminium case as per picture below.
4) Mosquito coil. As normally the mosquito will feast on you since there are so fan to give wind resistance from going near you.

Yesterday, I manage to go to Air Leleh Beach to relax my unfocused mind. Stress out with the coming research progress presentation this coming 16 April 2015 with lots more work in my plate😮
Fortunately a friend of mine willing to bring me there😘

Trying to capture the sunshine which penetrating the leaves
My friend said that I need to have a filter to capture this kind of picture. Well, there is no harm trying.
Evening sunshine
The waves at the beach
The upgrading works seems to be almost finish at the beach. Would be nice if there is people who sell food there in the evening.
The Air Leleh Beach is around 2.7 km from UMP Pekan campus, Kuala Pahang.

A journey to professional photography world

I have just receive a new toy right before I go back UMP, Pekan Campus this week. First time playing around with a DSLR camera.
Spotted one cat taking nap under the chair that my friend sit in Larkin Bus Station, JB while we are having out breakfast. It was sleeping soundly like nothing happen around it:

Initial picture while we are about to eat

After we finish eating

Still sleeping although we have move the chair
There are no electricity at night. So, need to use candle to light up the room. Taking the opportunity to test skills catching candlelights and smokes that comes from the mosquito coil :x

The lovely candle in glass jar

Straight line smoke from the mosquito coil

Want to focus on the smoke. But seems to focus on the candle more

Loving this picture. The smoke looks so artistic in my eyes
Snap few pictures yesterday on my way to Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FKEE) for research talk on "Opportunities in Ocean Based Research Efforts" from a professor in USM. The talk was really inspiring and interactive :x

Loving this upclose

The loss of your beloved ones

On evening of 16 March 2015, I went for a funeral to a father of one of my lab mate. We actually suppose to have meeting during that time. Therefore, I have already communicate with the rest of the team member in the morning to get them prepares early. Then, one of the member told me that the lab mate who is in-charge for one particular project, his father were critical due to his kidney around 8 am in the morning. Around 9 am in the morning while I was about to go to the lab, I receive the news that the lab mate father already passed away. The rest of his classmate went to attend the funeral were the body were buried after Asar prayer. As for me, I just follow the rest of the lab mate who go there after office hour to visit.

The lab mate is the second last child from 7. And all of his siblings above him already working. The last one just enroll in UIA. A boy also. For me, my friend is in better position than me last time and his father already have a house for them to stay after his absence.
Looking at that situation, makes me wonder. How did me and my family manage to survive after my father passed away.

Remembering my story:
During time my father passed away, I am the eldest in the family. A girl some more. At that moment, the date was 2 March 2000. Not yet sit for my SPM. My youngest brother at that moment is 3 years old and my Mum were overdue for her delivery at that moment. Regardless what, I do think all of my siblings were lucky as my mother still working at that time. If not, I do think the first person who will not get the opportunity to further study in degree would be me. Thank you very much, Mum.

However, we do not have our own house to stay after my father passed away. If only my father buy a house before that, my mum would not have to to pay any more for the house loan. I do think we could live in our house up till today regardless the one that perish in fire in 18 June 2013.
Basically after the incident, we have no house to celebrate Aidil Fitri 2013 (8 August 2013) = homeless.
Fortunately during the mishap, my brother who works shift as a male nurse already gone for work. God knows what will happen if he is still sleeping at that time.
I still remember that we start to stay in that house since 2001.

Below is the pictures of the burned house:
The living hall

Girls room

Kitchen, without flash

Master bedroom
For me,  I need to have the knowledge to do a proper planning and manage my financial regardless what. So that when I am no longer around, my kids would still have place to call home. And to gather around during Aidil Fitri and any family event.

Example of no knowledge and have plenty of money over her husband death compensation could be found in this link http://surexperience.blogspot.com/2014/06/knowledge-preparation-very-important.html. If only she use her money to buy 2 houses, she would already collecting rent from 1 house and stay in another. And not homeless like now.

Till then, have a good weekend and be safe at home.

Finally, my house key is within my hands

I was suppose to go back Pahang on Friday morning. While waiting for my friend to send me off to bus station, I received call from developer office to come and collect my house key. What a luck!!😊 Very grateful to be late at that moment.
The gorgeous set of keys that comes with a PU leather like file and 1 large umbrella
Isn't the set pretty? I'm loving it😍. I get 1 box containing a leather like file, 2 entry pass card and 1 large umbrella. In the file were the handover documents were kept. The file also comes with key slot were you could put all your house key in 1 place. The bag comes with the goodies have words stated "Your dreams made affordable". They are seriously true for me😃. If I didn't buy the house and wait to have enough capital to develop my own house, which I think will definitely take more than 5 years for me to complete the task. Meanwhile after 2 years time, I already can live in my house right now. I am so happy 😍.

The project manager who show the house really explain very detail on things that comes with the house.
Bonus, my house already installed with 3 phase system. It really saves me a lot ringgit  as one of my friend just upgrade his shop with 3 phase system and it cost him around RM 5 K. If the project manager didn't tell, I wouldn't know about the existence of the 3 phase system in my house. Plus, a 3 phase system would give better electricity distribution to the house.
Even better, I didn't have to pay any single cent to get the key to my house as it was all included in the loan already. One of my girlfriend were very jealous of me as she have to fork out her own money around RM 2 K to get the key to her house 5 years back.
Well, there are still Master bedroom and ground floor open for rent. For those who are interested, can contact me in the mudah link New rooms at Pulai Hijauan, Skudai or my blog in details about room for rent for the house [1]
Happy working tomorrow :D

Property investment for woman

"Seminar Hartanah dan Wanita" by DSR group. I come across their advertisement this week. And I do love the targeted market segment. As they focus for woman. It is a good mind opening for woman to start their own investment. Actually, for girls and woman they could go for any property seminar like what I have done for the past 7 years.

I have planned to have my own house before get married and the plan already materialised. It was self achievement for me. True, most people always said that when a girl get married, the husband will take care of everything. The husband will provide all the basic essential such as house, housing essential and etc. Still, I do prefer to own all of that by myself. Since I am not the type who likes waiting for uncertain things. That is a basic principal that I kept to myself. If you want it, you have to work for it. Plus, you will appreciate the value of it more after gaining it by yourself. Rather than waiting for a prince charming to sweep me of my feet (cause I am not that lucky on this part), I prefer to take care myself.

Me, guided by a good mentor were having a smooth journey in acquiring my first house. People always think of capital as first thing in property investment. How wrong it is as I did manage to buy my first house although I have less capital in my bank account. Now, my house worth more than half million ringgit. It is a big achievement for someone like me to have such a nice and huge house as my first property. To be frank, I myself also still in disbelief of my purchase. If you want to know more on the techniques and tips of property investment, you could join my property group investment. Further details could be found in this link "Seminar Pelaburan Hartanah Mampu". If you do not have time to attend the seminar, you could opt for mentoring program. The mentoring program is more extensive as we provide services to guide you step-by-step and also helps you to evaluate the property that you have in mind.

Till then, have a good weekend.

Why people love to ask when you will get new car once the existing paid off?

It has been a long break from my last post. That is because, I am a bit stressed out with my studies. Still, when I receive good news that my house already got her CF (Certificate of Fitness), it really sooth my wavering emotions😘.
Today, I went out with my closest ones. Then I told him that my car were about to finish her loan this year by July after 7 years loan tenure. However, I receive the same common sad question from him. That is = after that, you are going to buy which car? Well, I was surprised since he already owned 2 unit of houses😮. Being someone who is calculative, I asked him back. Why should I buy new car instead of new house for investment? Why I have to burden myself with another liability? Plus, I do wonder why don't they ask, what are your next investment instead? Well, I am not getting any younger to take longer loan tenure if I buy a car also. Might as well to optimize the loan that I am going to take for investment instead of loan for a liability.
To be frank, I am the person who always travel by bus. For those who are at my stage, they would definitely prefer to drive their own car. Yes, sometimes I have to attend meeting else where. But still I manage to reach the destination even though I am riding public transportation. That is were planning ahead comes. True, it is tiring taking public transportation. However, when you are travel alone like me, it is the best to travel by public transport most of the time.

Wonderful feeling when receive first deposit from my first tenant

It has been long break since my last entry. This is due to workload, flood season in Pahang and problems with my phone as it is not able to charge at all.
Although still have a lot of work to be done for the house since I still haven't receive the key and not yet start renovation process. Thankfully, my phone were able to be repaired in Johor. I was just in time to be able to settle the process of receiving first tenant to my house just in time as she was a bout to be away to US for her work. And today, I receive the deposit for the rent from her despite no key and no renovation 😊 It is really feel like a miracle. Plus, it was the best birthday gift ever for me 😍 Worth all the hardship coming back and forth to JB every month from Pahang to settle matter for the house.
I have been advertising the room of my house in Pulai Hijauan for rent since Nov 2014 in Mudah.com. Since then, I have receive various calls even from male although I have clearly advertise the room for female tenant only 😔And I receive deposit from first tenant after 2 months advertising. Feel really fortunate to start doing the advertisement earlier without waiting for the handover of the house key.
Hopefully I would be able to get tenancy full for the house soon and the renovation work to finish fast. My tenant really satisfy and love the house especially the room that she book. She didn't even asked for rent reduction price😍. Plus, she was envious of me for being able to have such a beautiful and big house. Well, I only manage to have the house with helps and advise from a very good mentor. Plus, the knowledge to keep on window shopping for houses also contributes to a good house selection.
Till then, have a good weekend ahead.

Good shoes for rainy season

It has been 3 days in a row, raining steadily in Pahang since I'm back in 19 Dec 2014 up till today, 23 Dec 2014. The hardest part is going out, especially going to the faculty since the best method is walking. As the rain here also comes with heavy wind. Which makes my folded umbrella turn inside out when it was used yesterday.
There are also accident near roundabout after guard post UMP. Me and my room-mate did notice the broken street light lamp near Manufacturing Faculty. The accident occurred yesterday morning.
The water level already rise every where in Pahang, including in UMP Pekan.
Below is the picture taken on evening of 22 Dec 2014 when me and my room-mate were heading out to the faculty.
The middle picture of the roundabout

The left view

The right view, near the Canselori UMP Pekan building
Well, we do think that we could have kayak race at the roundabout:D
During this rainy season, people tend to use slippers when they go out to faculty, cafe and etc. It is not a good view to see especially when they go to office such way. I do notice few girls using rubber shoes like crocs and etc. However, that is not enough protection for their feet from getting wet since the shoes is only ankle high. Plus, normally they won't use socks during this time since it will only get wet. Therefore, their feet getting blistered due to such condition. Saw one of student in faculty here who sat in the stairs for more than one hour. My friend did ask her why she sat there for a long time. Then, she said that her feet were blistered and she have to stay put since it does pain a lot. That is why I do think the need of boots like the yellow one that Pua Chu Kang used in the sitcom.
The signature Pua Chu Kang boots
Why I want those kind of yellow boots? The boots where high near to knee. Therefore, it also helps to cover the bottom of your pants from getting wet. Plus, it helps to keep your feet dry. More, you look presentably neat. That is what we want in this rainy season!
One blogger, Calvin also mention on having a boots for him to go for his lecture during winter season in Japan. The entry for boots of his blog : PCK Shopping.
I have goggled for those kind of boots. Well, it happens that those boots didn't come cheap. Most of them were priced from RM 100 and above. There is no such boots as cheaper than RM 100. Even for Crocs, their boots price were RM 250 and only available in one colour only. Could the link here to go to the Crocs rain boot page.
Fortunately, I did stumble on few website that did sell boots that within my budget range. And I just receive my new boots yesterday :x Have tried it out yesterday in the room. It was cosy and warm. Plus, it can be used for formal occasion since I choose black colour. No need to use yellow one like Pua Chu Kang :D With that, I could use the boots when going to the office without need to bring a spare formal shoes to change. Less of item to bring when you are going out. Plus, I would have a presentable look all the time. Will give the review on my new boots in the next entry.
Till then, bye.

VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) as moisturiser replacement

My room-mate happens to finish her moisturiser. I suggested her to try the smallest bottle of 30 ml VCO that I am currently using since she did say she have no budget to buy the new one of hers. She pay RM 10 for the 30 ml bottle and start using it at night. She was happy to have alternative for her moisturiser and it works. She did even say that one scratch on her skin improves from being scar after she put VCO on it (she have quite sensitive skin). She did mentioned that her "telekung" did smell nice as the trace of VCO still lingers even after yesterday usage. Glad to hear improvement from her 😘.
