Cutting off the fallen lemuni branch that cover one side of road

This is taken in the morning of 7 October 2021. Where I have to cut off the fallen lemuni branch. As it is already covered one side of the road in front of my house.

Fortunately I went down 40 minutes earlier before my actual outing time. So just nice time to cut down the fallen branch.

I use machete and manual pruning saw to cut it off. I whack the broken part first using machete. As unable to saw it through. Near the last part, I use the manual pruning saw. I did not use the portable battery operated pruning saw as I am unable to replace the battery and charge it for usage. Makes me feel that I should have a good size axe like the one in fire box tools to help me whack better😅.

The cut off lemuni branch is very heavy. I think wrong pulling style will make me end up poop in my pants. That is how heavy it is.

The I went over to friend's place after running errands. And we successfully remove the battery pack of my portable pruning saw. Then, my friend decided to test power of my pruning saw by trimming off tamarind (asam jawa) tree. Her husband did come checking on her. Maybe as he saw her on the top of the ladder from kitchen window.

This is her trimming off huge wild tree near small green reserve area near her house. Where I do help hold her ladder here.

Proof that the portable saw is easy to use by woman. Like my friend here, can immediately trim off tree that she want without need to wait for her husband.

After I am back home from my friend house, I rest for a while. Then I use the portable pruning saw to trim off small branches from the fallen lemuni branch. I do finished off 1 battery pack and use the second battery pack for the trim works. Just nice before my friend come to take me out for work discussion. Took me less than 10 minutes. 

Actually, I have use manual pruning saw to cut the lemuni branch last month. But it is too thick to be able to saw through manually. The  last 2 days, I try again the same cut part using portable pruning saw. Also unable to cut through despite 1 battery pack drained. And unable to resume to cut as I cannot remove the battery pack to replace with second one. Maybe due to strong wind after 2 days it break and fall. Basically it is all my fault as human and user to unable continue to saw the branch through. Due to my limited energy and strength. Think I need to go and do major overhaul in human workshop or get strong like Badang for this kind of work. Or maybe, I need to train my cat, Furball to use power tool to assist me better.

Planting chili plant : is it easy?

I was asked this question from my high school friend. Whether is it really chili plant easier beinh attacked by beetle type pest? As she mentioned that her father stopped her from planting one. Well for sure, I would not suggest beginner or someone that never plant anything to start with chili plant.

Reason is because chili plant have a lot of admirers (attract lots of pest). Therefore will have short survival rate for a beginner to plant chili. Which may lead to disappointment and might become discouraged. But if they have a good mentor and willing to pay and learn*, they might able to pull it through.

Among chili plant pests that I have encountered so far is:

● thrips

● aphids [1]

● whiteflies

● leafminers

● mealybugs [2]

● birds [3]

● snails

● slugs

● fruit flies 

Which leads to tendency of others to use pesticide on chili plant. As for me, I have opted to use organic approach in my gardening work. Where I make my own pest control using home grown ingredients and also other organic option that is safe to use while my precious cat roam around my house compound. But when using organic approach in gardening works, it takes more time and work. Since you will need to alternate the used organic pest control spray every 3 days gap to 1 week gap. It is because when used regularly without alternate, the pest will become immune to the used organic pest control spray. 

That is why I strongly suggest for beginners to do their homework in studying their plant before start planting. As early work is crucial for the long run. For me, I still have much more to learn on gardening works especially when using organic approach and self sustainability. If I can do it, so do you.

*I tend to stop helping those who never want to listen to my gardening advice. In my way in taking care of myself and reserving my energy. Which I would suggest for them to seek certified personnel in agriculture instead. Since I only learn based on experience.

Pretty homemade brewed coffee in private cafe

This is taken in the evening of 2 October 2021. Where I get to drink good homemade brewed coffee in private cafe.

My coffee comes with dragon art.

While my friend's one comes with love art.

Her personal barista is self taught. All the arts is based from his daily practise. I was even asked by others if my friend's personal barista open class to teach in making the coffee art😅. When I shared the taken coffee pictures.

Trimming small tree using handheld pruning saw

Enjoying good chicken based food for dinner

This is taken in the evening of 3 October 2021. Where I accompany my friend to dine out. She is craving for chicken chop. Sadly the first shop that we aimed, closed. So we have to go to other shop. The second shop have no chicken chop. But fortunately they have grilled chicken.

Nachos with beef infused sauce, pickle chili and cheese sauce.

My ordered peri peri chicken. Reminds us of Nando's. I think last time I eat Nando's is in 2010. After site visit in Balakong, KL.

It taste mild in spicy flavour.

The look of all the ordered food. Can see the nachos (on the most right) dissappeared fast after 11 minutes arrived to the table😅. A good thing to order nachos over fries.

It was a good fulfilling dinner meal. Suits for those who is in protein diet. But I think it is advisable to reserve your table when target to dine there. Since the food takes some time to be prepared.

Both of us are fully vaccinated. Still it is to dine in at our own risk.

The look of new curry (kari) leaves after under intensive care

This is taken in the morning of 2 October 2021. Where I am able to see the healthier leaves to my curry plant (pokok kari). After heavily infested and attacked by pests last 6 September 2021 [1]. It is even at the stage no longer left any leaves.

Basically it took 27 days for the heavily infested curry plant (pokok kari) to fully recover and produce new healthier leaves. I do tend it using my SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) intensive care. Which organic pest control and homemade fertilizer being use as part of the intensive care treatment. Among the used homemade fertilizer is homemade revival potion and the fermented onion, garlic peels [2,3].

This is taken in the morning of 27 September 2021. Where I strained the fermented onion and garlic peels that I have made last 5 September 2021. Basically I left it to ferment for 23 days.

I manage to get 8.5 liters liquid after the straining process. The strained onion and garlic peels, I put in all my planted plants base. So it is all fully utilized.

The tired look of Furball the cat after 0.2 km morning brisk walk

This is taken in the morning of 26 September 2021. Where I bring Furball the cat to her usual morning brisk walk route. After I finished tending after my plants: watering and spraying them.

She started to rest after 0.2 km of morning brisk walk. Which I end up to carry her home. After unsuccessful attempt in persuading her to walk home. She did already eaten half of her breakfast portion nasi ayam (chicken rice) before the brisk walk. So she suppose to have ample energy to walk home. Talk about high maintenance cat.

I always bring Furball the cat for brisk walk whenever I can. In order for her to  stretch leg and built up her leg muscle.

The progress growth or germinated honeydew seeds

This is taken in the morning of 28 September 2021. Can see green leaves to the honeydew seeds almost fully sprouted out. After start putting the seeds on soil last 22 September 2021. Basically it took only 7 days. Honeydew seeds is collected from the consumed honeydew fruit.

Hopefully the pests such as snails,slugs,critters and etc will not find this still fragile honeydew seeds. Was hoping for it to be able to grow and bear fruits this time.
