Electronics engineering (degree) course or programme in UTM Johor Bahru

Students can choose the above programme after they finished their matriculation or polytechnic or SPTM.
I personally would suggest for those who have good results in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics (Add Math) and Physics to choose these 2 from 3 undergraduate programme in School of Electrical Engineering (SKE) in UTM [1]:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical – Electronics) – SKEL under Division of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) [2] or
  2. Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical – Mechatronics) – SKEM under Division of Control and Mechatronics Engineering (CMED) [3]
Choice of concerntration under SKEL programme .
The grey area is the least of options for to be considered.
I  am putting table of SKEL as I am Computer Engineering gradute from UTM last 2007 [5]. Regardless I would seems bias in this entry and leaning towards electronics side, that would based from my  11 years of working experiences. From 30 people of my degree coursemates, only 3 of them have PhD. The rest, seems like do not even have spare time to get PhD as non stop work demand for them with definitley high salary😉.

I also strongly suggest to enroll for the above 2  programme in UTM as it is among the courses that Siemens Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. hired while I was with them last 2008 until 2011.

Can refer curriculum of both courses if wanted to know subjects that need to be taken in each chosen electronics programme [2,3].
For those who likes robotics, programming , automation can choose elective subjects such as:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is available for both SKEL and SKEM [2,3]
  • Robot Technology for Automation. This is available for SKEM only [3]
  • Autonomous Robot. This is available for SKEM only [3]

Regardless electronics programme that you choose, you can get work after graduated. Especially if you are UTM graduate.

For admission requirement, can refer to page 39 to 42 of Undergraduate Handbook from Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE),  Academic Session: 2017/2018 [7].

Can ask for my consultation advise on this matter. Surely such service won't come for free😁.

Till then, have fun in selecting courses of your choice😉.
