My review on pressure cooker Elba EPC 6000SS

Bought it last 2015 with price below RM 300. Initially it was given as wedding gift to one of lecturer who is lab member. Then, he donate it to the lab last 2017 since he see us cook a lot in the lab😁. What a perfect gift and timing for us in the lab. As now we get less fund and this pressure cooker helps a lot to save food cost since I do use it to cook extra for other lab mates and the donater too😉.
Already got scratches after constant usage and back and forth trip to the lab.
List of available cooking mode:
  • Rice
  • Salted-roasted chicken
  • Cake
  • Meat
  • Tendon/bean
  • Congee/soup

Overview [1]:
  • Capacity: 6.0 L
  • Power : 1,000W
  • Auto Control Technology with Computerised Cooking Programs
  • Variety of Cooking Functions

Disadvantage:
  • No steam function. So, I am unable to make bingka ubi last time. Or basically my attempt failed when I try to make it using cake mode
  • No slow cook function
  • Less accessories. Just come with rice spatula, power cord and measurement cup

Advantage:
  • Easily get tender meat within 30 minutes. No need to cut meat follow the meat grain. As the pressure cooker will to the work.
  • Able to cook pumpkin cake last time [2]

List of things I have cooked using this pressure cooker:
  1. Beef soup [3]
  2. Pumpkin  cake [4]
  3. Nasi lemak [5]
  4. Custard bread pudding [6]
  5. Improvised steamed beef with bonglai and soy sauce [7]
  6. Chicken porridge [8]
  7. Frozen curry [10]
  8. Green beans desert soup [11]
Warning list properly pasted on the pressure cooker lid.
Therefore, make sure to follow the given  instruction in the manual and the warning pasted on the pressure cooker. To avoid any mishaps while operating the hot and high pressured cooker.

I think I should make my own manual on how to use this pressure cooker for my cooking. As the manual for this pressure cooker, not that user friendly for those who have less and non technical background, kids and elderly. Despite it is a very good tool for cooking assist. Also helps a lot for someone like me who is always busy and try hard to make a decent home cooked meal over takeout. At this moment, I just improvised based on existing pressure cooker recipe that normally based on Instant Pot and Noxxa. Which both is in my wishlist if I get extra allocation later.

Till then, have fun in your cooking attempt and experiment using pressure cooker in daily basis😉💪.

    1. For me, it is possible. But need to put the chicken on steamer rack if want to get slightly dry chicken.
The one I have made last time, have a slight liquid coming out from the chicken itself.as this precious device does not need water added to it to cook well done chicken using function rice. Hope this help

    1. 7 minutes using function steam, texture mild. Mild is the lowest setting for this model. As default is 9 minutes of default for function steam, texture normal. Hope this help.

    1. I have baked pumpkin cake using this pressure cooker. Use function cake for 30 minutes for not more than 1 inch high cake batter inside the inner pot. Valve at seal. Can refer here
